U14s v Wilmslow

After the close game last week, the U14s ran up a bigger score today against Wilmslow. With all the boys getting good game time it was an enjoyable match finishing with another win for Stockport.
Eight different scorers today, with 3 lads getting their first goals of the season - well done to Sam W, Kai and Harrison.
Final score - Stockport 20 : Wilmslow 2
Quarter scores:  5-2 / 8-0 / 3-0 / 4-0

Next fixture : Away vs Timperley A

U12s v Mellor

Today's game was always going to be one of the toughest so far - and also one of the toughest of the season against a strong Mellor side.  Stockport got off to a good start winning the first quarter 2 goals to 1.  By half time Mellor had pulled ahead by just one goal with a 3-4 scoreline. The second half saw Mellor move ahead with Danny off injured and the newer players up against great opposition.  Whilst Mellor dominated the second half scoring, Stockport defence did well to keep the score low.

Final Score - Stockport 3 : Mellor 10
Quarter scores: 2-1 / 1-3 / 0-2 / 0-4

Next fixture - away vs Rochdale

U14s away at Poynton

Over to Poynton for what proved to be the best game of the season so far. Knowing that Poynton had beaten last week's opponents 32 goals to 3, it was always going to be a hard game.  It was certainly a close game, and our good start in Q1 held in good stead.
With both teams quite evenly matched, both players and spectators enjoyed the game, giving us another win on the sheet.
For full match report, see Jon's account at www.stockportlacrosse.co.uk

Final Score - Poynton A 11 : Stockport 12
Quarter scores - 3-5 / 2-2 / 4-4 / 2-1

Next fixture: to be advised

U12s - were at home this week in an unscheduled match against Poynton.  Following cancellations by Timperley and Sheffield, Poynton agreed to visit to play a full length match.
