U12s Away at Timperley

It has been some time since we last played Timperley and on the unfamiliar surface, our young men started well, finished well, with two even quarters in-between.  Racing to a 1-4 lead, at the end of Q1, with some exquisite interplay and great finishing.  Second quarter, was even, leaving us leading at half time 3-6.  Due to injury, we had a change in goal, with Luke's ankle causing him concern, Aaron went up front.  The 3rd quarter we seemed to struggle without Luke's presence, with a 2-0 swing in Timperley's favour, we entered Q4 with a slender lead 5-6.  However, Q4, seen us grab 3 and Timperley 2, leaving us victors 7-9.  5 different scorers today, and an absolute peach from Ashley, scorers today were Hugo (3) Ashley, Aaron (2), Cameron, and Joseph (2).  Well done!

Good zone, made the shots come in from distance

U12s at Home to Norbury

In what has now become a customary close game of lacrosse between these two sides, both Norbury and Stockport must look forward to games like this one.  In another close, hard fought game Stockport came out victors 11-8.  One didn't know what too think, with 2minutes gone, and both teams already registering their first goals of the morning.  First Norbury winning face, straight down putting it past our keeper, 1 up Norbury.  2nd face, Stockport winning the face, straight down putting it past their keeper, 1 all.  Fortunately it all settled down from here on in, Luke again dominating at face, Stockport winning Q1 4-2, Q2 was even at 3-3 and Q3 went Norbury's way 1-2, with a strong Q 4 performance 3-1 in favour of Stockport.  With 9 of our 11 goals assisted, it shows that our movement and passing was good today.  Todays scorers were, Luke (5), Cameron (3), Hugo (2) and Rhys.
Competitive right from the off

Always good to see, Hugo in full flight

Jack slowing it down

Under a great deal of pressure

Not as much as the 3 he scores, hurts the opposition

U12s away at Mellor

As we have come to expect, you have to bring your 'A' game against a strong Mellor U12s, and unfortunately we just didn't bring it today.  We were completely dominant at Face, but any little error we made, Mellor punished us with quick breaks.  We gave the keeper(s) little protection today, and found ourselves 4-0 down at the end of Q1.  We settled a little in Q2, with a 2-1 quarter leaving ourselves 6-1 down at half time.  With an injury to the keeper, Will bravely stepped up but the result was the same losing both quarter 3-1, putting us on the wrong side of a 12-3 defeat.  The strength Mellor have in depth is enviable, but on our day we can match any team, its just today wasn't our day.  Todays scorers were Luke (2),  and Hugo.  Next week, hopefully Cheadle Hulme will be able to produce a team, and hopefully our U10s can get there first game of the season against Timperley.
Team Clear

Don't know whether that's a legal defensive move - Cameron?
