U12s at Home 'V' Heaton Mersey

Eager anticipation, as we welcomed one of the stronger U12 teams to our venue, looking forward to a terrific mornings lacrosse.  With both teams being able to field good numbers, and with our U10s playing Sunday we welcomed back the more experienced players to provide the basis for our cup team later this season.
In recent weeks, we have got off to a strong Q1, and today was no exception racing to a 5-0 lead.  In particular this particular quarter was the best we have played all year, with some exceptional lacrosse being played.  The ball moved around quickly, and precisely, players releasing the ball at the opportune moment, and despite some early misses, we managed to find the net of 5 occasions.  In addition, there was a quite extraordinary save, with the keepers butt end being used to good effect.  Q2 started brightly, and fizzled a little bit, with the free flowing lacrosse being replaced by glory seeking, with a 3-1 quarter.  Q3 saw us manage a 4-0 quarter, finishing Q4 with a 0-2 quarter.
Lots of game time for all players today, and lots of promise.
One thing which really does need to improve from some, is the way we behave on and off the field if we do want to succeed.

U10s at Home against Spencer

It was good to welcome our Southern counterparts, who have to travel an awful long way to get a game of junior lacrosse.  Having played Mersey & Timperley on the Saturday, they came to Stockport to play our U10s.  Here are a few photos of the tough game

U12s Away to Boardman & Eccles

This week the lads travelled to Boardman & Eccles for the next episode in the 2017 season story.  With cold conditions, scattered showers and four players away with the U14' this allowed others to step up and show what they were made of.
The pitch was not in the best condition due to heavy rainfall, but delighted to have a game when many other teams would have called it off, therefore the going was tough.  The first quarter saw the lads streak ahead with a 0-4 lead and the dominance continued into the second quarter which ended 1-3.
There were ground balls aplenty today with 50no in total which reflected some of the inexperience within the team.  There were a few heated moments and hopefully two young lads will learn and not react, as it doesn't help the team.
We were fairly even on face off with seven won and six lost, although Boardman took the free clear after we had scored five.
A special note is needed for Josh Bradbury who stepped into the big shoes of Aaron for the second time this year with excellent results.  He is a rising star and with more experience will be a great asset for the U10' and U12' teams in the future.
Shots (25) and shots on goal (24) were high today and if they were all secured the score line would have been much higher. Boardman & Eccles seemed to have renewed vigour going into the third quarter and this resulted in a quarter score of 3-2 and the come back continued into the last quarter but equaled by our lads with a quarter score of 3-3.
7 different goal scorers this week, Ben, Jay, Dan, Henry, George (2), Luca (3), Dan (3), but need to work on the number of assisted goals.  Felt Luca had a strong influence on the game, with 3 good goals, and working hard all over the pitch.
Final score was 7-12 and the undefeated run remains intact......
Clear to see how conditions were

Lots of work from our newer players

Well Done to you All
